Applying “sale” the human behavior to the robots platform is a leaping attempt and a brand-new retail model. The robots serve as sales. This specialty will become a new consumer hotspot and the unique service mode of the robots will create a different kind of shopping experience for customers. Taking the functional attributes of robots’ “service” into account, the designer used a penguin gentleman as the inspiration source and combined the lovely appearance of penguins and the characteristics of waiters to create affinity service robots and maximally eliminate the icy and stiff feeling of robots to customers.
The core design concept is “affinity”. It reflects the “service” attribute of the robot through the appearance design. The innovative combination of the characteristics of “waiter” and “penguin gentleman” takes the simple penguin shape as a carrier and matches with the element of waiter’s business wear. This allows consumers to understand the product attributes and enhance the appearance memory of robots. The material of robots is frosted plastic. Its gentle texture enhances its interaction with human beings and let consumers be willing to touch the robots. The unique vertical delivering model is matched with the design of the top tray. And the double-opening door provides consumers with a ceremonial shopping experience.
The robots can move and sell beverages and other products in indoor public areas, such as, airports, high-speed rail stations, and commercial centers. They can cover the blind spots of convenience stores and vending machines and actively look for customers to achieve accurate marketing and increase the sales quantity. The robots function of autonomous charging and automatic replenishment minimize the cost of labor. The unique patent of loading and delivering enable consumers to fetch products without bending down. They also undertake a certain promotion function of brands, so that the information can be more accurately conveyed to the consumers.
After the department stores, supermarkets, and vending machines, smart movable retail robots will be another retail revolution. Using the new platform to realize the “sale” economic activity will be a new consumer hotspot. The brand new service model and efficient operation are unique characteristics of the robots, which will change the shopping process. According to the backstage data, the sales quantity of smart movable retail robots is 3 times more than that of vending machines. With the increasing usage rate of robots, the algorithm of robots is more and more optimized. This will lead to more convenient and efficient service for customers.
